Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Casting Design Engineer- Mechanical with strong hands-on experience in industrial equipment design, sheet metal design, casting component design, fabrication design, large assembly design, GA drawings, manufacturing drawings, and BOM preparation.

The candidate should have practical working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor / SolidWorks and should be capable of developing manufacturable designs, coordinating with production, foundry, fabrication, vendor, and shop-floor teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for mechanical design and development of industrial equipment, sheet metal parts, casted components, machined parts, fabricated structures, ducts, chutes, conveyors, machine frames, enclosures, supports, brackets, and large assemblies.
- Prepare 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, GA drawings, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, casting drawings, machining drawings, and detailed part drawings.
- Work on sheet metal design, casting design, weldments, structural fabrication, machining parts, and equipment layout drawings.
- Apply casting design considerations such as draft angle, machining allowance, wall thickness, ribs, bosses, fillets, shrinkage allowance, parting line feasibility, and foundry/manufacturing feasibility.
- Prepare and maintain BOM, cutting lists, bought-out lists, technical documents, revision records, and engineering change documents.
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure designs are easy to manufacture, assemble, inspect, and maintain.
- Use GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, and drawing standards wherever required.
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, foundry, quality, vendors,



purchase, and shop-floor teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
- Support product development, design modification, localization, cost reduction, value engineering, and design improvement activities.
- Review manufacturing feasibility and provide technical support during casting, machining, fabrication, assembly, installation, and trials.
- Maintain design data and revisions through PLM/PDM/ERP systems such as Autodesk Vault, Windchill, SAP, Teamcenter, Enovia, or similar.

Required Skills

- Solid experience in Mechanical Design / Product Design / Industrial Equipment Design / Fabrication Design.
- Hands-on experience in Sheet Metal Design, Casting Design, Weldments, Fabrication Drawings, GA Drawings, Manufacturing Drawings, and Assembly Drawings.
- Good knowledge of casted components, machined casting parts, casting drawings, foundry coordination, casting manufacturing process, and casting design feasibility.
- Good knowledge of large assembly design, equipment structures, ducts, chutes, conveyors, enclosures, supports, brackets, and machine frames.
- Proficiency in any of the following CAD tools:
- Autodesk Inventor / SolidWorks
- Good understanding of BOM preparation, DFM/DFA, GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, engineering documentation, and engineering change management.
- Experience in PLM/PDM/ERP systems like Autodesk Vault, Windchill, SAP, Teamcenter, Enovia, or similar will be preferred.
