Job Title: ESG & Carbon Market Specialist (Temporary – 6 Months)
Location: Delhi
Department: Sustainability / ESG & Compliance
Duration: 6 months Role Overview ESG & Carbon Market Specialist:
For a 6-month fixed-term assignment. Work on projects on Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS) and on transitioning from the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme. Reporting under GHG Protocol, BRSR (Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting), GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), EU and UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms (CBAM)
Conducting ESG assessments, gathering baseline data, and ensuring operations are compliant with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) frameworks.
Working on Voluntary carbon market MRV frameworks Key Responsibilities:
PAT to CCTS Transition: Track, collate, and review historical energy consumption, GHG emissions, and production data to establish baseline metrics for the new CCTS framework.
Emissions Reporting: Prepare and authenticate mandatory emissions reporting pro-formas aligned with BEE guidelines to ensure zero-penalty compliance.
ESG Assessment: Conduct gap analyses and ESG maturity assessments, mapping current operations to reporting frameworks (such as BRSR, GRI, and TCFD).
Data Validation: Collect Scope 1, Scope 2,
and relevant Scope 3 emissions data, and prepare the necessary documentation for accredited carbon verification audits.
Stakeholder Coordination: Assist the units and sustainability teams in understanding carbon liability, the trading of Carbon Credit Certificates (CCCs), and energy-saving certificates (ESCerts).
CBAM: Preparation of product-level emissions calculations, advising clients on preparing CBAM monitoring plans, and audit preparedness Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, Energy Management, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Experience in ESG reporting from Indian and International frameworks, GHG emissions inventorying, CBAM reporting, or corporate sustainability.
Subject Matter
Expertise
Working knowledge of Indian carbon markets (PAT, CCTS, and ESCerts).
Basic understanding of EU Emissions Trading System and offset principles under CBAM regulations.
Familiarity with GHG Protocol and international ESG disclosure standards (BRSR, GRI, etc.).
Skills: Solid data analytical capabilities, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and experience with data modeling for carbon assessments.
