C# Backend and Database Developer Role Overview We are looking for a C# Backend and Database Developer to develop, maintain and modernize the BioLIMS backend services and data layer. The role supports a multi-application API estate, Azure SQL databases and shared libraries while improving reliability, performance and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain ten C# .NET API applications and two shared internal libraries supporting BioLIMS.

Enhance, troubleshoot and refactor services built on C# 8.0 and C# 10.0 across .NET Core 3.1, .NET 5 and .NET 6 frameworks.

Design and support application-per-database integrations with Azure SQL Server, including schema, query, data-quality and performance work.

Build and maintain secure REST APIs, service-layer logic, integrations and reusable components.

Investigate production defects through code, logs and database analysis, then implement sustainable fixes and preventive improvements.

Support platform modernization toward .NET 10 while protecting compatibility, stability and deployment readiness.

Package and deploy applications to Azure App Service on Windows using the existing compressed-file deployment process.





Required Skills And Experience Strong C# and .NET backend development experience across both legacy and current framework versions.

Solid experience designing and troubleshooting REST APIs, service integrations and database-driven applications.

Robust Azure SQL Server and T-SQL skills, including query optimization, data validation and production issue investigation.

Experience with Azure App Service, Windows-hosted deployments, Git, code review and disciplined release practices.

Ability to work independently on complex defects, technical debt and modernization tasks.

Preferred Experience Experience with identity and access-management patterns such as OAuth, OIDC and IdentityServer. Some applications include a Skoruba IdentityServer4 implementation.

Experience with LIMS, laboratory systems or other business-critical enterprise applications.
