Prayoga Institute of Education Research is a DSIR-recognised Science and Industrial Research
Organisation (SIRO) based in Bengaluru, India. We work at the intersection of science,

Role Overview The Business & Operations Manager — TAaa S owns the commercial growth and operational continuity of Prayoga’s Testing & Analysis as a Service (TAaa S) business. You will build and manage a structured pipeline of prospects across target industries, convert opportunities into longterm retainer relationships, and ensure day-to-day service delivery runs smoothly against defined standards. This is a dual-mandate role suited to someone who is equally comfortable in a customer conversation and an operational coordination meeting.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Build and manage a structured prospect pipeline across the Food & Beverage,
Pharmaceutical, Materials & Polymers segments, and Other Industry Segments.
- Run systematic outbound outreach to generate qualified meetings and advance prospects through the sales funnel.
- Own customer qualification, proposal, and closing processes end-to-end.
- Convert one-off project customers into ongoing retainer relationships by demonstrating consistent value.
- Identify, approach, and activate channel and referral partners to drive inbound business development.
Operations & Service Delivery
- Maintain and operate the systems handed over by the PMO — including sample flow management, TAT commitments, LIMS protocols, and customer onboarding standards.
- Coordinate day-to-day work of the inside sales associate and lab coordinator to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Own the end-to-end customer experience, including escalation handling and resolution.
- Monitor operational performance, identify gaps, and escalate systemic issues for resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, pipeline status, and operational metrics.
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Have
Science graduate in Chemistry, Food
Technology, Materials Science, Pharmacy, or a related discipline
Prior exposure to laboratory services, Contract
Research Organisations (CROs), Testing,
Inspection & Certification (TIC) environments, or scientific instruments businesses
8–12 years of experience, with a primary background in B2 B sales or business development
Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information
Management Systems) or similar operational tools
Good to Have
Demonstrated track record of pipeline building,
qualifying prospects, and closing deals in industrial or scientific segments
Experience identifying and activating channel or referral partners
Experience selling into or serving Food &
Beverage, Pharmaceutical, or Materials &
Polymers industries
Working knowledge of sample management protocols, TAT (turnaround time) frameworks, or quality assurance in a lab context
Ability to own both revenue targets and day-today operational continuity in an early-stage setup
Comfort with CRM tools for structured outbound outreach and pipeline reporting
Strong written and spoken communication skills in English; comfort with customer-facing escalation handling
