Role & Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases on AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and implement indexing strategies.
- Design logical and physical data models to support application requirements.
- Support database migration and transformation activities from on-premises to AWS or across platforms.
- Collaborate with application development teams to ensure efficient database integration and optimal query performance.
- Implement and maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor database health and performance using AWS CloudWatch and Performance Insights.
- Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and work with DevOps teams to automate database deployments through CI/CD.

Preferred Candidate Profile





- 6-8 years of experience in PostgreSQL database development and administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL on AWS RDS and/or Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
- Proficient in SQL, PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and query optimization.
- Experience in database performance tuning, indexing, and logical/physical data modeling.
- Good understanding of database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and security best practices.
- Experience in database migration projects, especially from on-premises to AWS or cross-platform environments.
- Familiarity with AWS CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and cloud-based database monitoring tools.
- Working knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployment.
- Experience with MySQL is an added advantage.
- Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
