Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Manager Software Engineering (Quality Engineering) to join our India MANUF SUPPLY DIG PLAT-CAT IT Division.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Chennai - Brigade World Trade Centre

What you will do

- The Engineering Manager will lead Quality Engineering (QE) across digital platforms, with accountability for end-to-end quality strategy, governance, and execution across functional, integration, and non-functional testing.
- This is a horizontal leadership role responsible for ensuring quality is designed-in, continuously validated, and measured across the lifecycle, enabling predictable, high-confidence releases at scale.
- The role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, SRE, and Platform teams to build a scalable QE operating model, drive shift-left quality practices, and establish data-driven quality insights for leadership decision-making.

Enterprise Quality Engineering Leadership

- Own and define enterprise QE strategy and operating model. Establish governance across functional testing, integration and system testing (SIT), and non-functional quality (performance, reliability, accessibility). Drive a quality-first engineering culture.

Quality Strategy, Planning Execution

- Oversee end-to-end QE lifecycle including strategy, planning, execution, and certification. Ensure high-quality delivery across platforms, applications, and digital systems. Drive consistent release readiness and Go/No-Go governance.

Automation, Frameworks QE Platforms

- Define and scale QE frameworks and automation platforms across UI, API, and E2E. Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and drive automation-first practices including in-sprint automation and regression optimization.

Quality Governance, Metrics Reporting

- Define QE metrics including defect containment, leakage, automation coverage, and release quality. Build executive dashboards and provide visibility into risks and trends.

Cross-functional Collaboration

- Partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture and SRE teams to embed quality early. Translate technical risks into business impact.

Continuous Improvement

- Drive QE transformation initiatives including shift-left adoption, automation maturity, and process improvements. Standardize practices across teams.

Organization Leadership





- Lead and scale distributed QE teams, mentor leaders and engineers, and build a culture of ownership and continuous learning.

What you will have

- 12+ years in Quality Engineering / Testing. 7+ years leading teams at scale. Proven leadership in quality transformation, stakeholder influence, and large program delivery. Atleast 1 year experience working with AI applications.

Technical Expertise

- Strong experience in test automation frameworks, API testing, CI/CD practices, modern programming languages (Java/Python), cloud environments, and microservices architecture.

- Experience in large-scale digital or eCommerce platforms. Exposure to Agile, DevOps tools, and performance testing concepts.

Success Measures

- High defect containment, reduced production leakage, predictable release quality, strong executive confidence, and scalable QE capability across teams.
- Additional Information: This position requires candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office

Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements. Level Expert: Oversees the evaluation and selection of developers workbench and tool-kits. Contributes to the development of best practices. Monitors industry benchmarks for effectiveness of development; makes recommendations. Introduces new software product development approaches that expedite or simplify delivery. Demonstrates significant experience in building complex software products or systems. Discusses process and criteria for determining best development process and tools.

Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace. Level Extensive Experience: Explains how to use multiple, vendor-provided or in-house structured methodologies. Describes tasks, tools and practices for converting software product requirements into a design. Demonstrates experience with all phases and deliverables of the product development methodology. Implements the generic functions, features and facilities of modern structured methods. Explores and evaluates major structured methodologies available in the marketplace. Consults on effective application of structured product development methodologies.

Software Integration Engineering: Knowledge of software integration processes and functions; ability to design, develop and maintain interfaces and linkage to alternative platforms and software packages. Level Extensive Experience: Works on designing scalable and efficient ETL models and templates.
