Roles & Responsibilities & Payment Posting Duties:

- EOB/ERA Processing: Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) from insurance companies.
- Payment Application: Accurately post insurance payments, patient deductibles, copayments, and contractual write-offs to individual patient accounts.
- Denial Recording: Identify and log denied or partially paid claims, transferring remaining balances to the Accounts Receivable (AR) or denial management team for appeal.

Preferred candidates:

- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with medical billing and EHR software (major software like Epic, Nextech, Allscript, Modmed, Athena, Citrix, Etc.)
- Medical Coding Knowledge:



Familiarity with standard medical coding systems.
- Analytical Abilities: High mathematical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to detect variances in large datasets.
- Industry Understanding: Solid grasp of the US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process, including Medicare/Medicaid and private payer guidelines.
- Certifications: While not always mandatory, credentials such as a Certified Skilled Coder (CPC) from the AAPC or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
