Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Biomedical Engineer role based in Kannur.
The Biomedical
Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide range of medical equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation in clinical environments. Daily tasks include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating repairs and refurbishments, and documenting service activities in line with regulatory and company standards. The role involves collaborating with clinical staff to understand equipment usage and performance needs, supporting equipment audits,
and contributing to optimization of device uptime and asset lifecycle.
The Biomedical
Engineer will also interact with cross-functional teams within CYRIX’s ecosystem, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and adherence to safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Map and onboard new medical equipment, ensuring 100% accuracy in the equipment database
Perform installation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of biomedical equipment
Ensure optimum utilization and consumption of spare parts
Maintain detailed service records including service history, breakdown calls, pending issues, and indent tracking
Coordinate with OEMs for equipment under warranty and ensure timely resolution of issues
Provide technical support and training to clinical staff on proper usage and maintenance of equipment
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and ensure high satisfaction levels
Strive to obtain customer feedback and appreciation letters through quality service delivery
Prepare and submit daily service reports to the Department In-Charge (DI)
Ensure timely completion of service activities as per commitments and SLAs
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field
2-5 years of hands-on experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and service
Robust knowledge of medical equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors/OEMs
Basic knowledge of documentation, reporting, and inventory management
