Position: Senior Tendering Engineer

Business Unit: Power Business Unit (PBU)
Work Location: Chennai

Experience: 5 - 10 Years

Job Summary:

DAR Engineering is seeking an experienced Tendering Engineer. The Tendering Engineer will be responsible for preparing techno-commercial proposals and supporting bid submissions for Power, Substation, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Solar PV, Wind, and Renewable Energy design engineering projects. The role involves reviewing client requirements, coordinating with engineering teams, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring timely submission of competitive tenders.

Required Qualifications:





- Experience in tendering, estimation, proposal engineering, or design engineering for power and renewable energy projects.
- Good understanding of:
- HV/EHV Substations (AIS/GIS)
- Transmission & Distribution systems
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Solar PV and Wind Power projects
- Electrical design engineering deliverables

Required Skills:

- Tendering and proposal preparation.
- Cost estimation and man-hour calculation.
- Technical specification review and compliance assessment.
- Strong analytical and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and proposal management tools.

Key Responsibilities :

- Review RFQs, RFPs, tender documents, and client specifications.
- Analyze project scope, technical requirements, and deliverables for power, substation, BESS, and renewable energy projects.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to develop technical proposals.
- Prepare cost estimates, man-hour calculations, and commercial proposals for design engineering services.
- Develop bid documentation, technical compliance matrices, and clarifications.
- Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and opportunities during the tender stage.
- Support customer discussions, pre-bid meetings, and technical presentations.
- Maintain tender records, bid status trackers, and proposal databases.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and tender deadlines.
- Assist in contract review and project handover upon award.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience with EPC, Owners Engineer, or Design Consultancy projects.
- Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and utility requirements.
- Exposure to utility-scale renewable energy and grid interconnection projects.
