Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Interior Trim Design Engineer with strong expertise in automotive New Product Development (NPD). The candidate should have Hands on experience in Catia V5 (Part/surface/drawing).
• Sound knowledge in packaging study and master section creation.
• Design and development of Interior Trims from concept to final design as per the design requirements within the timeline.
• Participating in design review meetings and provide solutions.
• Knowledge in benchmarking and cost reduction.
• Identification and resolution of design related issues during development till release.
• Knowledge of prototyping, manufacturing, and assembly processes of Interiors.
• Design product to cost targets.
• Knowledge in Team Center and Vismockup.
• Demonstrate good customer and cross functional relationships.
• Problem solving skills (8D / 6-sigma)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
• Knowledge in MS office tools.

Job Description

• Extensive knowledge in advanced injection molding Technologies like slush molding, 2K molding, LPI (Low Pressure Injection Molding) IMG (In Molding) & IMGL (In Molding Lamination)

• Hands-on experience in designing complex plastic mold designs like IP SUBST
• Capable to discuss with Tool maker or Supplier in all tooling related technical discussions.
• Good Knowledge in Mold flow Analysis and capable of reading Mold flow reports.
• Excellent knowledge in Plastic Injection molding
• Extensive experience of commodities development (for e.g. Interior components like IP&CNSL;, Air vents, Ducts, Pillar Trims, Door Trims) current part design, on-going product development changes; digital pre-assembly.
• Extensive experience in developing CAD designs in CATIA, based on Engineering direction for commodities in above-mentioned PMTs
• Facilitating Engineering review of CAD using available collaborative tools such as Web-Ex, IM, emails etc.
• Understanding the geometric requirements within the context of the vehicle as defined by engineering requirements.
• Applying GD&T; for completed designs.
• Ensuring the quality of CAD meets CAD Design standards.
• Executing as well as checking the progress of the Designs and suggest alternatives whenever required to make sure that the deliverables are met with the appropriate quality for each milestone of the Product Development process.
