The Final Inspection Incharge is responsible for overseeing the final quality control checks of all finished precision components and assemblies before they are dispatched to customers. This role ensures 100% compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and international quality standards (such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949). The ideal candidate will lead a team of inspectors, manage advanced metrology equipment, and foster a zero-defect culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Quality Control

- Supervise and execute daily final inspection activities for all finished products to ensure zero-defect leakage to customers.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;), and customer-specific requirements.
- Oversee the layout inspection and accurate measurement of high-precision components using standard and advanced metrology instruments (CMM, profile projectors, micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Ensure proper implementation of Sampling Plans (e.g., AQL levels) in accordance with company and customer standards.

2. Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain accurate and meticulous inspection reports, Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) records, and Quality Certificates (CoC).
- Drive adherence to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards within the final inspection zone.
- Manage and update the calibration status of all inspection instruments used in the final QC area.

3. Non-Conformance & Continuous Improvement

- Identify, segregate,

and log non-conforming products to ensure they are not inadvertently shipped.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using quality tools (5 Why, Fishbone diagram, 8D methodology) for any final inspection failures or customer escapes.
- Collaborate with the Production and Process Quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

4. Team Leadership & Development

- Manage, train, and mentor a team of Final Quality Inspectors, ensuring optimal shift rotation and resource allocation.
- Conduct regular skill-gap matrix assessments for inspectors and provide necessary technical training.
- Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety regulations and 5S principles within the inspection area.

Role Requirements

Education & Experience

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of core experience in the Quality Department of a precision machining, automotive component, or engineering manufacturing setup. At least 23 years in a supervisory or team-lead role in Final Inspection.

Technical Skills

- Profound knowledge of precision machining processes (Turning, Milling, Grinding, etc.).
- Expertise in operating and programming/interpreting CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and optical measuring systems is highly preferred.
- Strong command over GD&T; and engineering drawing blueprints.
- Thorough understanding of Core Tools: PPAP, SPC, MSA, and FMEA.
- Proficiency in using ERP software (like SAP/Oracle) and MS Office (Excel, Word) for data logging and analytics.
