As an Avionics System Test Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and reliability of mission-critical flight systems. Your day-to-day involves designing, executing, and automating complex test suites to validate embedded software against stringent aerospace standards.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including systems architects, software developers, and certification authorities, to ensure seamless integration and compliance. By maintaining rigorous testing protocols, you directly impact the airworthiness of aircraft, ensuring that our clients deliver secure, high-performance solutions that meet global aviation safety benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute comprehensive system-level test plans to verify embedded software functionality against DO-178C requirements, ensuring full compliance for safety-critical avionics systems.
- Conduct rigorous troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on complex system failures to minimize downtime and enhance the stability of flight-ready software.
- Manage the end-to-end software configuration lifecycle, ensuring that all test artifacts and documentation remain audit-ready and aligned with project milestones.
- Collaborate with certification teams to provide technical evidence and traceability reports, facilitating smooth project sign-offs and regulatory approvals.
- Optimize testing workflows by integrating automated scripts within the CI/CD pipeline, significantly reducing manual testing overhead and improving release velocity.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated proficiency in Embedded C for developing test scripts and validating low-level hardware-software interactions in real-time environments.
- Robust working knowledge of DO-178B/C standards, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable test cases.
- Proven experience in system-level testing and integration, coupled with a methodical approach to identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
- Advanced capability in using JIRA for defect tracking and project management, ensuring clear communication across distributed engineering teams.
- Expertise in Configuration Management tools and practices to maintain version control and integrity of software builds throughout the development lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical findings to stakeholders and contribute effectively in a collaborative, on-site environment in Bangalore.
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace, Electronics, or Computer Science, supported by 3 - 6 years of hands-on experience in the avionics domain.
