- Raw Material Testing: Sample and analyze raw inputs such as iron ore, coal, coke, dolomite, and limestone for moisture, ash, carbon, sulfur, and iron content. [1, 2]
- In-Process & Finished Goods Analysis: Test molten metal, sponge iron, slag, and finished steel to ensure compliance with quality parameters (e.g., IS standards). [1, 2, 3]
- Instrument Operation & Calibration: Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments like XRF spectrometers, carbon/sulfur analyzers (e.g., Leco), and proximate analyzers. [1]
- Wet Chemistry & Physical Testing: Conduct wet chemical analysis and physical tests including sieve analysis, shatter tests, and tumbler indices. [1, 2]
- Documentation & Reporting: Log analytical data, prepare technical reports,

Qualifications

- Experience: 1 to 4+ years of relevant experience in a steel melting shop (SMS) or Sponge Iron (DRI) laboratory.
