The West Global Corporates (WI GC) team within CIB India, manages client relationships that include India’s largest conglomerates and business houses which have a global presence and business interests across various sectors – Auto, Steel, IT, Cement, Chemicals, Telecom, Retail, Pharma etc. These groups have complex business requirements across products and geographies and fairly demanding in their expectations from banking partners.

We are currently seeking an Associate to support Global Relationship Bankers (GRB)/ Relationship Managers (RM) in managing a portfolio within the 20+ mastergroups spanning relationships across approximately 50 countries and more than 350 legal entities. The position is based out of Mumbai.

Principal Responsibilities To support the senior GRBs/ RMs in developing and managing the client relationships. For strong existing relationships this includes maintenance and origination,



for relatively newer relationships this includes support in business development efforts To provide back-up to the GRBs/ RMs in their absence such that all client facing activities can be managed To provide support to clients for day-to-day transaction management To work with the GRBs/ RMs and product teams towards formulating and delivering client strategy, including preparation of detailed client plans To work with GRBs/RMs and internal teams to present cases for Business committee approvals and if need be run with this independently To work with GRBs/RMs to prepare and present cases which need Regional or Global approvals. Similarly, work on Transition Plans and Questionnaires on ESG basis policy of the Bank.

To ensure that credit requirements of clients are promptly met (subject to risk approvals and related framework)

To monitor related MIS and ensure that the portfolio remains disciplined and clients compliant in matters of documentation, covenant compliance, other credit exceptions, daily excess management and sanctions compliance.

To work with Credit Services in ensuring timely issuance, execution and perfection of client documentation To work with Legal, Compliance etc and if need be product teams to manage client negotiation on all credit related documentation To ensure that the clients and our interactions with them are in compliance with the existing regulatory guidelines.





To support product / process / system rollouts related to any regulatory changes introduced by the regulators from time to time To Build the Global Banking franchise value and reputation by ensuring that all responsibilties are executed flawlessly and HSBC promise delivered to the client in a timely, professional and cost efficient manner.

Requirements Self driven individual with ability to multi-task and manage time exceedingly well

High levels of integrity in client dealing

Robust knowledge / strong inclination to learn – bank systems, processes, key local regulations, product offering, documentation

Primary understanding of credit risk

Good communication and networking skills

Good Analytical and reasoning skills Educational Qualifications / Certification and Requirements:

Education background in Finance preferred. A post graduate degree/ diploma is a pre-requisite.

A 3-5 year work experience in client facing role preferred. Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
