Job DescriptionChitkara University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Robotics and Control from passionate educators and researchers committed to excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and industry collaboration. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate programs by delivering high-quality education, conducting impactful research, and mentoring students in the rapidly evolving fields of robotics, automation, intelligent systems, and control engineering.

NKey Responsibilities

nTeaching and Curriculum Development

N

n
- Teach undergraduate courses in Robotics, Control Systems, Automation, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, Industrial Automation, Sensors and Actuators, and related subjects.
N
- Develop and continuously update course materials, laboratory manuals, assignments, and assessment strategies in line with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and NEP guidelines.
N
- Design interdisciplinary laboratory experiments integrating robotics hardware, simulation tools, and embedded platforms.
N
- Mentor undergraduate and postgraduate projects, internships, and capstone design activities.
N

nResearch and Innovation

N

- Conduct high-quality research in areas such as:

- Robotics and AutonomousSystems
N
- Control Systems

- Intelligent and Adaptive Control
N
- Industrial Automation
N
- Mechatronics
n
- Embedded Systems
N
- Artificial Intelligencefor Robotics

- Computer Vision

- Human-Robot Interaction

- Internet of Things (IoT) for Automation

- Digital Twins and SmartManufacturing

- Publish research papersin reputed SCI/Scopus-indexed journals and international conferences.

- Develop interdisciplinary research collaborations within and outside the University.
N
- Secure externally funded research projects from agencies such as DST, SERB, AICTE, DRDO, ISRO, MeitY, and industry partners.
N

nLaboratory Development

N

n
- Establish and maintain advanced laboratories in robotics, automation, control systems, PLC/SCADA, industrial robotics, and embedded systems.
N
- Train students on industrial robots, robotic manipulators, autonomous mobile robots, and up-to-date automation platforms.
N
- Promote experiential learning through hands-on laboratory activities.
N

nIndustry Collaboration

N

n
- Build collaborations with industries and research organizations.
N
- Facilitate internships,industrial training, consultancy, and sponsored projects.
N
- Organize expert lectures, workshops, faculty development programs, hackathons, and robotics competitions.
N

nStudent Mentoring

N

n
- Mentor students for higher studies, entrepreneurship, research, and innovation.
N
- Guide teams participating in national and international competitions related to robotics and automation.
N
- Encourage patent filing, product development, and startup initiatives.
N

nAcademic Administration

N

n
- Participate in curriculum development, accreditation activities (NBA/NAAC), quality assurance, and departmental committees.
N
- Support admissions, examinations, outreach activities, and institutional development initiatives.
N

nEssential Qualifications

N

n
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Control Engineering, or a closely related discipline only.
