Candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing, fabrication, machining, and assembly processes of heavy machinery and special purpose equipment. The role involves inspection, implementation of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015), coordination of NDT activities, documentation, customer inspection support, and leading a team of quality inspectors to ensure compliance with customer and organizational quality standards.
- Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) as per ISO 9001:2015.
- Conduct incoming, in-process, stage-wise, and final inspection of fabricated, machined, and assembled components.
- Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Verify welding quality and fabrication standards.
NDT Coordination
- Coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, including:
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT)
- Review NDT reports and ensure compliance with customer specifications and relevant codes.
- Audit Records
- Maintain calibration records of measuring instruments.
- Ensure complete traceability of inspection records.
Quality Improvement
- Analyze quality issues using Root Cause Analysis techniques.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve process capability.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise a team of 68 Quality Inspectors/Technicians.
- Plan daily inspection activities and allocate work.
- Monitor team performance and provide technical guidance.
Customer & Audit Support
- Coordinate customer inspections and third-party inspections.
- Support internal, external, and certification audits.
- Resolve quality observations raised during customer inspections.
