About the Role
This role owns the integrity of costing, inventory control, and margin reporting across multiple sites. The focus is not just on monitoring numbers, but on creating reliable systems for COGS accuracy, GRN/GI discipline, budget adherence, and cost governance. The position partners with Operations and Supply Chain to validate business cases, purchase requests, and pricing assumptions, ensuring decisions reflect actual cost impact.
It also supports the Annual Operating Plan, site-level margin analysis, and process improvement initiatives. Success in the role means stronger financial control, better visibility into cost drivers, and measurable improvement in efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Own inventory control across sites by overseeing physical stock counts, reconciling variances quickly, and ensuring corrective actions are closed through ERP-backed controls.
- Monitor monthly COGS and variance drivers, translating cost movements into clear reports that support management decisions and margin improvement.
- Track GRN and GI transactions daily, identify delays or gaps, and escalate control issues to improve transaction accuracy and process adherence.
- Review business cases, rate proposals, and pricing models to validate assumptions, assess financial impact, and protect margin integrity.
- Lead AOP preparation and cost projections, then monitor budgets and approved limits to keep spending aligned with operating plans.
- Validate POs raised by Operations and Supply Chain against budgets and approvals, strengthening cost governance and financial compliance.
- Prepare site-wise margin and variance analysis reports, highlighting root causes and corrective actions that improve profitability.
- Conduct site visits and process audits, documenting observations and implementing improvements in inventory control, reporting quality, and automation.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Strong costing, variance analysis, and financial control capability, with the ability to convert operational data into actionable business insights.
- Advanced use of SAP for costing, inventory, and reporting workflows, supported by robust MS Excel skills for analysis and reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of Power BI for dashboards and performance reporting, with attention to data quality and consistency.
- Strong audit, reconciliation, and issue-resolution skills to identify control gaps and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills to work with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and site teams.
Additional Plus
- Exposure to multi-site, manufacturing, or service environments where inventory movement and cost ownership are critical.
- Experience driving automation or process improvement in finance or costing functions.
- Hands-on involvement in site audits, governance checks, or process standardization initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- CA, CMA, CWA, or semi-qualified professional background with relevant experience in costing, inventory management, and financial analysis.
- 4-6 years of experience with strong ownership of reporting accuracy, controls, and follow-up on operational issues.
- Detail orientation, analytical thinking, and discipline in managing reconciliations, budgets, and margin analysis.
- Confidence working across teams and locations, with the ability to influence outcomes through facts, structure, and persistence.
