Assistant Engineer Electronics (ELINT / EW / Radar Systems)

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Engineer Electronics with hands-on experience in ELINT (Electronic Intelligence), Electronic Warfare (EW), Radar Receiver Systems, and RF Test Engineering. The ideal candidate will support troubleshooting, testing, field deployment, and maintenance of advanced electronic and radar receiver systems used in defence applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose and troubleshoot receiver anomalies across 0.518 GHz frequency range, including sensitivity degradation, phase noise, high noise figures, and channel imbalances.
- Perform fault isolation on RF hardware including ultra-wideband tuners, IF digitizers, local oscillators, downconverters, mixers, filters, and LNAs.
- Analyse Built-In Test (BIT) data to identify component-level failures and environmental degradation.
- Support field deployment, system integration, installation, commissioning, and hardware upgrades at customer locations.
- Provide real-time technical support for mission-critical receiver systems during field operations.
- Analyse Pulse Descriptor Words (PDWs), radar traces, and captured signal data to identify anomalies.
- Operate RF test equipment including Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, and other electronic test instruments.
- Document technical findings, failure modes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, QA, and Field Support teams for timely issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and documentation practices.





Candidate Profile

- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or equivalent.
- 25 years of hands-on experience in ELINT, Electronic Warfare (EW), Radar Systems, RF Testing, Product Support, or Field Engineering.
- Positive understanding of receiver architectures, RF transmission lines, waveguides, mixers, filters, LNAs, and microwave components.
- Experience in troubleshooting RF and radar receiver systems.
- Ability to analyse technical logs and hardware failures.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for field support and customer deployments.
- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with X-Band, Ku-Band, and Ka-Band radar systems.
- Knowledge of Pulse Width (PW), Pulse Repetition Interval (PRI), Time of Arrival (TOA), and ELINT signal processing concepts.
- Working knowledge of Linux, Python, or Bash scripting.
- Familiarity with defence/aerospace standards and electronic system integration.
- Experience in Failure Analysis (FA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Education

- Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) Mandatory
- B.E./B.Tech (ECE) candidates with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
