Application form https://tally.so/r/WOXYNL The Brand
Outelier is a new Indian clothing label, pre-launch and building its first collection.
Our garments carry large, detailed embroidered artwork. The artwork is the product; the garment is the surface it sits on. We are looking for an artist to create it. Embroidery experience is welcome but not required — thread is the medium, not the entry requirement. The work
Original artwork for garments: a full-back statement piece with a smaller front placement, extending to sleeves, hoods and hems where the composition calls for it.
Developing each design from brief to final artwork, including revisions.
Adapting artwork to a limited thread palette on dark ground.
Working with our digitizer so the drawing survives its translation into thread. What we are looking for
Solid draftsmanship. It is the one thing we cannot teach.
Judgment about density and negative space — where detail belongs, and where the ground should be left alone.
Comfort working to a brief and iterating on feedback.
Embroidery experience is a significant plus. Digitizing — Wilcom, Pulse, Hatch — is a further plus. Neither is required.
Years of experience are not a filter here. The portfolio is. Terms of employment
Freelance and project-based, fully remote. Starting immediately. You will need real availability across the two weeks, not evenings around other commitments. Scope, rates and terms discussed on the first call.
If the timeline doesn't work for you but the work does, apply anyway and say so. We will be commissioning beyond this first set. To apply
No CV needed. Portfolio, Instagram, and anything else you want us to see. The form takes a couple of minutes.
Tell us about one object that ages well — a garment, a tool, a building, a typeface, anything. Under 100 words. We are more interested in what you notice than in why you want the job.
Fill the application form.
