INTRODUCTION

We are hiring a Java Developer with 5+ years of experience to join our Information Technology group and help develop, enhance, and support enterprise Java applications within a large-scale insurance and administrative processing environment. This role is focused on hands-on Java development across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, release support, batch processing, production support, and day-to-day system operations.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven Java developer with robust experience building and supporting production applications, solid knowledge of Spring-based frameworks and RESTful services, and the ability to work effectively in complex and regulated environment domains.

The candidate should collaborate well with senior developers, stakeholders, and distributed teams; learn new technologies quickly; contribute to CI/CD-driven delivery; and consistently produce clean, testable, production-quality code.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- 5+ years enterprise Java development experience (Java 17+)
- Spring Ecosystem: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA
- Microservices Fundamentals and Cloud-Native Application Patterns
- RESTful APIs and SOAP Web Services
- Docker, Kubernetes (AKS) and Azure Cloud
- SQL Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
- Batch Processing and Job Scheduling (Control-M or equivalent)
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps
- Git: Branching Strategies, Commits, Pull Requests, Code Reviews
- Observability: Prometheus, Grafana
- Production Support and Incident Management
- SOLID Principles, OOD, and Design Patterns

JOB FUNCTIONS

- Develop and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications within a large-scale administrative processing environment.
- Participate actively across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including requirement analysis, design, development, unit/integration testing, and release support.
- Build RESTful and SOAP web services for new integration development using Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
- Develop and support microservices-based applications using Spring Boot and cloud-native design patterns.
- Implement and support batch processing jobs and nightly batch cycles, including job configuration with predecessor/successor dependencies, FTP-based file transfers, automated notifications, and failure troubleshooting.
- Provide production support for business-critical applications, including root cause analysis, defect resolution, incident response, and on-call support within defined SLAs.

- Integrate applications with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) using Hibernate, Spring Data JPA, and SQL queries.
- Apply design patterns such as MVC, Singleton, Factory, and DAO to build maintainable, scalable application components.
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline activities using GitHub Actions, including automated builds, test execution, and deployment workflows.
- Follow Git-based version control practices including branching strategies, commits, pull requests, and code reviews aligned with team standards.
- Develop, deploy, and support applications running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure cloud platform services.
- Author and maintain designated sections of Technical System Design Documents (TSD); actively participate in design and architecture discussions with senior team members.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, provide accurate effort estimates, and communicate progress and blockers proactively.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing, debugging, and supporting production-grade Java 17+ enterprise applications, with strong understanding of core Java concepts including object-oriented programming, collections, exception handling, and contemporary Java features.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug complex Java application issues using logs, stack traces, thread dumps, application monitoring tools, and root cause analysis techniques.
- Good working knowledge of the Spring ecosystem: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Spring REST.
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting microservices-based applications using Spring Boot and cloud-native design patterns.
- Hands-on experience developing and consuming RESTful web services and SOAP services.
- Experience with batch processing concepts such as job configuration, scheduling, nightly cycle support, predecessor/successor dependencies, file transfers, automated notifications, and failure troubleshooting using enterprise workload automation and job scheduling platforms (e.g., Control-M or equivalent).
- Experience providing production support including incident analysis, root cause identification, defect resolution,

and on-call support within SLA-driven environments.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL; proficient in SQL, stored procedures, and ORM frameworks (Hibernate, Spring Data JPA).
- Experience with Git including branching strategies, commits, pull requests, and cooperative code review workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions including automated builds, test execution, and deployment to non-production and production environments.
- Hands-on experience with deploying, troubleshooting, or supporting containerized applications in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Kubernetes, or comparable cloud platforms.
