Role & responsibilities

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

- Execute preventive maintenance schedules for plant equipment and utilities.
- Monitor equipment condition and identify potential failures.
- Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and equipment history.
- Assist in implementing predictive maintenance techniques.

2. Breakdown Maintenance

- Attend mechanical breakdowns and restore equipment in minimum downtime.
- Troubleshoot issues related to pumps, motors, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, agitators, valves, and utility equipment.
- Analyze root causes of recurring failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with production teams to minimize operational disruptions.

3. Equipment Inspection & Reliability

- Conduct routine inspections of rotating and static equipment.
- Monitor vibration, temperature, leakage, alignment, and equipment performance.
- Ensure proper lubrication and maintenance practices.
- Support reliability improvement initiatives.

4. Spare Parts & Inventory Management

- Identify and raise requirements for spare parts and consumables.
- Coordinate with stores and procurement for timely availability of spares.
- Maintain critical spare inventory records.
- Verify quality and specifications of received materials.

5. Safety & Compliance

- Follow plant safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Ensure secure maintenance practices during shutdowns and repairs.
- Participate in safety inspections and audits.
- Report unsafe conditions and recommend corrective measures.

6. Documentation & Reporting





- Maintain daily maintenance logs and equipment records.
- Prepare maintenance reports, breakdown analysis, and improvement reports.
- Update maintenance schedules and checklists.
- Support preparation of shutdown and maintenance plans.

7. Coordination & Continuous Improvement

- Coordinate with Production, Utility, E&I;, QA/QC, and other departments.
- Support plant shutdown and turnaround activities.
- Suggest improvements for equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Participate in cost reduction and energy-saving initiatives.

Equipment Exposure

- Pumps, Compressors, Blowers
- Gearboxes and Motors
- Heat Exchangers
- Storage Tanks and Agitators
- Valves and Piping Systems
- Utility Equipment (Boilers, Cooling Towers, Air Compressors, etc.)

Tools / Software Exposure

- MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- SAP / ERP Maintenance Module (if applicable)
- AutoCAD (basic understanding)
- CMMS / Maintenance Management Software

Learning Expectations

- Understand plant maintenance systems and equipment reliability.
- Develop troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Learn preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Gain exposure to safety standards and maintenance planning.
- Build coordination and documentation skills required for plant operations.

Qualification: B.E. Mechanical Engineering / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Location: Plant / Factory Site
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
