- Operate the distillation plant as per approved SOPs.
- Start up, monitor, and shut down the distillation system safely.
- Maintain required temperature, pressure, flow, and vacuum parameters.
- Monitor column performance to achieve desired product quality.
- Ensure optimum steam and water consumption.
2. Process Monitoring
- Monitor process parameters through PLC/DCS and field instruments.
- Record process readings in shift logbooks.
- Identify abnormalities and take corrective actions.
- Coordinate with fermentation, boiler, utilities, and bottling teams.
3. Product Quality
- Maintain ethanol/ENA strength and purity as per specifications.
- Ensure proper separation of heads, hearts, and tails.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control laboratory for sample testing.
- Prevent contamination during production.
4. Equipment Operation
- Operate pumps, valves, heat exchangers, condensers, and distillation columns.
- Monitor utility systems such as steam,
cooling water, and compressed air.
- Report equipment malfunction immediately.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and permit systems.
- Use PPE at all times.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and excise regulations.
- Participate in safety drills and toolbox talks.
6. Documentation
- Maintain production records.
- Record downtime and process deviations.
- Prepare shift handover notes.
- Maintain batch and utility consumption records.
7. Maintenance Support
- Assist maintenance during preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting.
Report abnormal vibrations, leakages, or unusual noises.
Preferred candidate profile
- 2 to 5 years: Distillation Operator
- Experience in ethanol, ENA, grain distillery, molasses distillery plants is preferred.
