Android QA Tester Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Android QA Tester to join our product development team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our Android applications by identifying bugs, validating new features, and improving the overall user experience.

Success in this role means delivering thorough testing, reporting issues clearly, and working closely with developers to ensure every release meets high quality standards. You will play a key role in our software development lifecycle by helping deliver stable and user-friendly mobile applications.

Responsibilities

- Perform manual testing of Android applications across multiple devices and Android versions.
- Execute functional, regression, usability, exploratory, and compatibility testing.
- Identify, reproduce, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, videos, and logs.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure issues are fully resolved before release.
- Test new features and existing functionality to ensure expected behaviour.
- Validate application performance under different network conditions and device configurations.
- Ensure UI consistency across various screen sizes and Android versions.
- Test offline functionality, data synchronisation, notifications, and other application workflows where applicable.
- Collaborate with developers and product team members to resolve defects efficiently.
- Maintain and update test cases, test plans, and testing documentation.




- Participate in release testing to ensure production readiness.
- Suggest usability and quality improvements based on testing observations.

QualificationsRequired Skills
- Basic understanding of Android applications and mobile testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to write explicit and comprehensive bug reports.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Skills
- Experience testing Android applications.
- Familiarity with Android Studio and Logcat.
- Basic knowledge of Firebase or other backend services.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, usability, and exploratory testing.
- Experience with bug tracking or project management tools such as Jira, Trello, GitHub Issues, or similar platforms.
- Basic knowledge of REST APIs is an advantage.

Education
- Pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Final-year students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in Android application testing or software quality assurance.
- Freshers with a strong interest in Quality Assurance and mobile application testing are welcome.

Preferred Certifications (Optional)
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification.
- Any recognised Software Testing or Mobile Testing certification.
