The Manager – CNC Turning & VMC is responsible for overseeing the production, planning, quality, maintenance coordination, and team management of the CNC Turning and Vertical Machining Center (VMC) operations. The role focuses on achieving production targets while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage CNC Turning and VMC production activities.
- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Ensure optimum machine utilization and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Monitor production output, cycle times, productivity, and machine efficiency.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores for smooth operations.
- Ensure first-off approval, in-process inspection, and adherence to quality standards.
- Analyze and reduce rejection, rework, and machine downtime.
- Support new product development, process validation, and production trials.
- Optimize machining parameters, tooling selection, and cycle time reduction.
- Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor tooling consumption and implement cost-reduction measures.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed in coordination with the maintenance team.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate supervisors, programmers, setters, and operators.
- Maintain production records, MIS reports, and KPI dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies.
- Participate in customer audits and internal quality audits.

Required Skills





- Strong knowledge of CNC Turning and VMC machining processes.
- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, tooling optimization, and machining parameters.
- Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, and root cause analysis.
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements (preferred for automotive industries).
- Solid leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.

Experience

- 8–15 years of experience in CNC Turning and VMC manufacturing.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in automotive, precision engineering, or heavy engineering industries is preferred.
