The Restaurant Captain is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences by supervising table service operations, attending to guest needs, and ensuring smooth coordination between the service and kitchen teams. The role requires professionalism, leadership, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills to maintain high hospitality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables in a skilled manner.
- Present menus, explain food and beverage offerings, and provide recommendations when required.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely service delivery.
- Supervise and support waitstaff during service operations.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by promptly handling requests, feedback, and complaints.
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen staff for smooth service flow.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards of the dining area.
- Ensure proper table setup and service etiquette at all times.
- Monitor service quality and maintain hospitality standards as per company policies.
- Assist in training junior service staff and maintaining team discipline.
- Handle billing procedures and payment settlements accurately when required.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or certification in Hotel Management or Hospitality is preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in restaurant or hotel service operations.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior Captain role is an advantage.
