Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic HR Executive to manage end-to-end human resources and plant administration activities at our chemical manufacturing facility in Surat. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between management and the shop-floor workforce, ensuring smooth plant operations. This role requires strong expertise in talent acquisition, payroll management, employee relations, and strict adherence to statutory compliances and factory labor laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Source, interview, and hire blue-collar (operators, technicians) and white-collar (chemists, engineers, administrative) staff. Conduct comprehensive induction and safety orientation for new hires.
- Attendance & Payroll Management: Manage the biometric attendance system, track leaves, monitor shift schedules, and calculate overtime (OT). Assist in the end-to-end monthly payroll processing.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with the Factories Act (1948), Minimum Wages Act, PF, ESIC, Skilled Tax, and Bonus Act. Maintain all required statutory registers and assist during labor department inspections.
- Employee Relations & Grievance Handling: Act as the primary point of contact for employee grievances on the shop floor. Foster a positive work environment and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Training & Development: Coordinate mandatory safety training, fire mock drills, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
training in collaboration with the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) department.
- Facility & Admin Management: Oversee plant administration, including canteen services, housekeeping, security, and the distribution/tracking of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Performance Management: Assist in the annual performance appraisal process, maintaining records, and coordinating feedback sessions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: MBA/PGDM in Human Resources, Master of Social Work (MSW), or Master of Labour Welfare (MLW) is preffered.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of core HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing, chemical, or pharmaceutical plant setup.
- Compliance Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Indian labor laws, specifically Gujarat state regulations and the Factories Act.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience handling HRIS/Payroll software and biometric time-attendance machines.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in Gujarati (plus points), Hindi, and English.
- Attributes: High emotional intelligence, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work effectively in an industrial environment.
- Requires regular walkthroughs of the shop floor and direct interaction with plant workers.
- Standard general shift, but may require occasional flexibility during payroll processing or compliance audits.
