Role Description The Purchasing Manager is a full time, on-site role based in Puducherry, responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement of goods and services required for hotel operations. The role includes identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials for all departments, including rooms, food and beverage, housekeeping, and maintenance. The Purchasing Manager monitors inventory levels, prepares purchase orders, maintains accurate records, and aligns procurement activities with budget and cost-control goals.



The role also involves collaborating closely with department heads to forecast needs, ensuring compliance with hotel policies, and contributing to sustainable and efficient purchasing practices.

Qualifications

- Strong procurement and vendor management skills, including supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and relationship management.
- Experience with inventory control, stock monitoring, and purchase order processing in hospitality or a similar service environment.
- Financial acumen with the ability to work within budgets, analyze cost structures, and support cost-saving initiatives.
- Proficiency with procurement or ERP software, spreadsheets, and basic data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple purchasing activities.
- Prior experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role, preferably in hotels or hospitality.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of local markets and suppliers in and around Puducherry is an advantage.
