Job Summary - The Cylindrical Grinding Operator is responsible for setting up and operating cylindrical grinding machines to produce precision components as per engineering drawings and quality specifications. The role involves maintaining dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and machine efficiency while adhering to safety and quality standards.

- Key Responsibilities Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Perform external, internal, and taper grinding operations.
- Measure finished components using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and height gauges.
- Ensure components meet dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements.
- Select and mount suitable grinding wheels based on material and job specifications.
- Perform wheel dressing and balancing when required.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during operation.
- Carry out routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Report machine malfunctions or quality issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain production records and inspection reports.
- Follow 5S, safety, and company quality procedures.




- Work closely with the Quality and Production teams to achieve production targets.
- Required Qualifications ITI / Diploma in Machinist, Fitter, Tool & Die Making, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience operating cylindrical grinding machines (experience may vary based on company requirements).
- Technical SkillsKnowledge of cylindrical grinding processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T; symbols.
- Knowledge of grinding wheel selection and dressing.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of surface finish and dimensional tolerances.
- Basic knowledge of machine maintenance.
- Preferred Skills Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts when required.
