SAP RAR Consultant

An SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) Consultant designs, configures, and supports automated revenue recognition solutions to ensure compliance with financial standards like IFRS 15 and ASC 606. Core duties involve managing system setups, integrating upstream modules, and resolving transaction errors.

Key Responsibilities

- Solution Design & Configuration: Set up Revenue Accounting Contracts (RAC), Performance Obligations (POB), and Revenue Accounting Items (RAI) within SAP S/4HANA. [1, 2]
- System Integration: Connect SAP RAR with Order-to-Cash (OTC) pipelines like SAP SD, FI/CO, BRIM, or external billing systems. [1, 2]
- Testing & Validation: Run System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and manage revenue data reconciliation. [1, 2, 3]
- Error Troubleshooting:



Monitor and resolve inbound RAI processing logs, allocation anomalies, and month-end/year-end posting discrepancies. [1, 2, 3]

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Experience: 4 to 10+ years working in SAP Finance, with deep specialized focus on SAP S/4HANA RAR implementations.
- Accounting Standards: Expert working knowledge of IFRS 15 and ASC 606 regulations.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Business Rule Framework plus (BRF+) for allocation rules and parallel ledger accounting concepts.
- Soft Skills: Client-facing communication skills for requirement gathering and drafting functional design specs (FDS)
