Job Description Purpose/Objective
n The role is responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting functions at the Port business, including budgeting, financial planning & analysis, MIS, accounting, treasury and working capital management, receivables management, statutory compliances, audits and financial reporting. The position plays a critical role in supporting business growth through robust financial governance, controls, and decision support.
n Key Responsibilities of Role
n • Lead preparation, consolidation, review and finalization of annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets; ensure timely approvals and conduct periodic budget reviews.
n • Monitor and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual revenue, cost and profitability performance; identify variances and recommend corrective actions to management.
n • Provide financial evaluation and decision support to the business for capital expenditure proposals and investment decisions.
n • Ensure timely preparation and circulation of monthly MIS and coordinate financial performance reviews with business stakeholders.
n • Oversee preparation, analysis and review of financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
n • Analyze expenses, receivables and working capital trends; recommend and drive corrective measures for operational efficiency.
n • Manage cash flows, liquidity position and short-term investment decisions to optimize returns and ensure adequate funding.
n • Ensure compliance with internal audit observations and continuously strengthen internal financial controls and processes.
n • Ensure completion of statutory audits within defined timelines and take appropriate actions on audit observations.
n • Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory compliances including Service Tax / GST, EPCG obligations and other applicable laws.
n • Lead, coach and motivate the finance team through effective communication, performance management and capability building.
n • Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes and adopt up-to-date financial systems and technologies aligned with business requirements.
n Qualifications & Experience
n Educational Qualifications:
n • Chartered Accountant (CA)
n Relevant Experience:
n • Minimum 15+ years of experience in Finance & Accounts
n • Experience in handling end-to-end finance operations in a large organization or infrastructure / port setup
n • Strong exposure to balance sheet finalization, statutory audits and regulatory compliances
