n The CMR Group of Institutions is a unique education conglomerate based in Bangalore, India, that offers a wide range of courses from the Montessori / Kindergarten level to Post Graduate and PhD programs. n Role Overview:
n The department head (HOD) has the sole responsibility of running the academic programs of a department successfully. He/she has to follow the set rules and standards of the University in the delivery of the program. He/she reports to the Dean/ Director of the school. He/she has the following duties and responsibilities.
n n To act as the administrative and academic head of the department in executing the teaching and learning aspects of the department.
n To take advice/sanction from the dean for implementation of academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
n To assign duties to teaching and non-teaching staff of the department in consultation with the dean/director.
n To ensure allocation of workload (teaching load and practical load) to all faculty members and technical non-teaching staff with the help of the academic coordinator.
n To co-ordinate with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the department for smooth function of conduction of academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the department.




n To present the department/program budget/requirement to the dean.
n To take the lesson plan from the faculty members and to ensure they follow the plan and syllabus is completed in the stipulated time.
n To ensure smooth conduct of examinations including paper setting, assessment of theory and lab.
n To ensure quality, maintenance and cleanliness of the department.
n To forward leave applications of the departmental colleagues.
n To motivate faculty towards research proposals to various research funding agencies.
n To encourage research and cutting-edge programs in the department.
n To invite guest speakers for interaction and guidance to students.
n To facilitate faculty in the preparation and processing of self-appraisal of performance.
n To ensure that school/college equipment/facilities under the department's control are properly maintained and serviced as required.
n n Experience Required:
n n 15 - 20 yrs + preferred University / Industry experience.
n n Education:
n n Master's Degree or Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) in Psychology.
n Advance degree in relevant filed / Certification course.
n n Skills Required:
n n Strong academic credentials required, Teaching and Research Experience (Management or related discipline), and Patents.
n Leadership and Management Skills, Curriculum development, Accreditation Knowledge, Industry Connection, Communication, Interpersonal Skills and Networking skills.
