Purpose of the Role

To ensure reliable, safe, and productive operation of all automation, electrical, and auxiliary equipment across the Cold Rolling Mill, Melting & Casting, and Finishing areas through preventive maintenance, system optimization, troubleshooting, energy management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all electrical and automation safety standards, statutory requirements, and secure work practices, with a focus on zero accidents and 100% near-miss reporting.

Plan, execute, and monitor preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of automation systems to maintain equipment availability and keep machine breakdowns below 5% of operating time.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, servo drives, instrumentation, industrial communication networks, sensors, and electrical control systems.

Improve equipment reliability by conducting root cause analysis (RCA), implementing corrective actions, and achieving MTBF and equipment availability targets.

Lead automation upgrades, modernization, system integration, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Support installation, commissioning, testing,



and stabilization of recent machines, automation systems, and plant expansion projects.

Monitor specific energy consumption and implement automation-based energy optimization initiatives.

Coordinate with Production, Projects, OEMs, and vendors to ensure reliable operation of all assigned equipment.
