Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe System Administrator / z/OS System Administrator with 8+ years of experience in administering mainframe infrastructure, z/OS operating systems, system software, and related subsystems.

The ideal candidate should have solid hands-on expertise in z/OS, JES2, CICS, TCP/IP, SMP/E, Parallel Sysplex, LPAR, WLM, system performance tuning, automation, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery. Experience in mainframe solution architecture, RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, and presales support will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
Administer, install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IBM z/OS mainframe systems and infrastructure.
Manage z/OS hardware and key subsystems including JES2, CICS, and TCP/IP.
Monitor system performance, tune system parameters, manage workloads, and optimize system efficiency.
Perform system capacity planning and workload management, including load balancing.




Develop and execute backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
Apply fixes, patches, upgrades, and maintenance using SMP/E.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using REXX and CLIST.
Manage and support Parallel Sysplex, LPAR builds, IPL procedures, and WLM.
Work with tools such as TSO/ISPF, SDSF, z/OSMF, HCD, HMC, IOCP, and MainView.
Provide technical guidance and support to application, development, infrastructure, and operations teams.
Analyze system software requirements and recommend upgrades and technology improvements.
Provide technical solutions for complex mainframe infrastructure settings.
Support preparation of RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, technical proposals, and solution presentations.
Collaborate with Sales, Presales, and Solution Architecture teams on customer proposals.
Follow and implement ITIL-based processes and service management practices.
