Role Overview

We are seeking a structured and patient Male Piano Instructor to conduct 1-on-1 piano lessons for a beginner student. This is a part time, hourly-based position ideal for a music student, freelance tutor, or experienced church pianist who can simplify musical concepts and help a beginner build a robust foundation in practical playing and basic music theory.

Key Responsibilities

Practical Instruction: Teach foundational piano techniques, including correct finger positioning, posture, and scale exercises.
Music Theory & Notation: Guide the student through reading sheet music (staff notation), understanding time signatures, rhythms, and basic chord structures.
Lesson Planning: Plan sequential lessons that match the student's learning pace, assigning weekly practice pieces and exercises.




Progress Tracking: Monitor and evaluate the student's technique weekly, offering constructive feedback to fix common errors early.

Requirements

Musical Background: Formal grade certification from a recognized board (like Trinity College London or ABRSM Grade 3 to 5) is highly preferred. Passionate self-taught musicians or church pianists with a strong practical command of the instrument are also welcome.
Teaching Style: Excellent patience and communication skills to comfortably break down complex sheets into straightforward steps for beginners.
Punctuality: Solid commitment to the scheduled hourly slots.
