Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive vision assessments including visual acuity, refraction, and binocular vision evaluation.
Conduct objective and subjective refraction and prescribe appropriate optical correction.
Perform ophthalmic diagnostic procedures such as:
Auto Refraction
Keratometry
Non-Contact Tonometry (NCT)
Applanation Tonometry
OCT
Fundus Photography
Visual Field Analysis
A-Scan
B-Scan (where applicable)
Pachymetry
Biometry
Corneal Topography
Specular Microscopy
Color Vision Testing
Contrast Sensitivity Testing
Hertel Exophthalmometry
Other investigations as assigned
Assist ophthalmologists during outpatient consultations and specialized clinics.
Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and explain procedures clearly.
Identify ocular emergencies and promptly inform the concerned consultant.
Maintain accurate patient records in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and cleanliness of ophthalmic equipment.
Follow infection control protocols and maintain departmental hygiene.
Counsel patients regarding spectacle correction, contact lenses, and prescribed investigations.
Assist in pre-operative assessment and post-operative evaluation of patients.
Coordinate with doctors, counsellors, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure smooth patient flow.
Participate in vision screening camps, outreach programs, and community eye care activities.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and ethical standards.
Attend departmental meetings, clinical discussions, and training programs.
Train junior optometrists, interns, and students whenever assigned.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the management or reporting authority.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
