Description
Obtain and document patient assessment incorporating all available data and information.
Plan and document a nursing care plan using the nursing process and set priorities of care.
Deliver care using the nursing process; delegate and supervise care delivered by junior staff nurses.
Evaluate each shift's nursing interventions and document; revise care plans as required.
Participate in Nursing Quality Assurance programs.
Identify unsafe care practices and contribute to corrective action.
Take over from previous shift nurse and check bedside checklist items.




Render nursing care to assigned group of patients (bed making, sponging, mouth care, back care, etc.).
Observe and report symptoms and condition of patients to the doctor as and when necessary.
Record TPR, BP; administer medications; note reactions; set up treatment trays.
Co-ordinate with paramedical workers (Physiotherapists, Dieticians).
Assist in admission, discharge, transfer in and transfer out of patients.
Check inventory, CSSD items, dressing trolley, procedure trolley, crash cart and biomedical equipment each shift.
Any other duty assigned from time to time.
Be part of the Quality Improvement Initiative and protocols of the organization.
