A Fire & Safety Officer is responsible for protecting people, property, and the workplace by preventing fire hazards, ensuring workplace safety, and enforcing health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular fire and safety inspections throughout the hospital.
Ensure compliance with fire safety and hospital safety regulations.
Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and sprinkler systems.
Identify fire and safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
Organize and conduct fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises.
Train hospital staff on fire prevention and emergency response procedures.
Monitor emergency exits, escape routes, and evacuation plans.
Investigate fire incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare reports.
Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Coordinate with the fire department and emergency response agencies.
Supervise protected storage and handling of medical gases, chemicals, and flammable materials.
Monitor high-risk work such as electrical maintenance and hot work.
Maintain fire safety records, inspection reports, and emergency documentation.
