The job of a TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) Social Science involves teaching students of middle classes (generally 6th to 10th) subjects such as History, Geography, Political Science, and Civics in an effective and engaging manner. A TGT Social Science teacher is responsible for planning lessons, preparing teaching materials, and delivering concepts in a easy and understandable way. They assess students through tests, assignments, and activities, while also maintaining classroom discipline and encouraging participation. Teachers are expected to use innovative teaching methods like discussions, maps, charts, and real-life examples to make learning engaging. In most schools, especially under organizations like Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, a TGT teacher also participates in co-curricular activities, maintains records of student progress, attends meetings, and communicates regularly with parents.
