Role Overview

The Agronomist will be responsible for identifying suitable maize crops across assigned regions, building relationships with farmers, and supporting the silage production process. The role involves field travel, crop assessment, farmer engagement, and coordination with the management team to establish remote production sites.

Key Responsibilities
Identify and survey maize crops in assigned regions of Tamil Nadu.
Engage with farmers and educate them about silage production and its perks.
Provide guidance to farmers regarding suitable seed varieties and crop practices for silage production.
Monitor maize crop availability and provide regular updates to management regarding potential procurement areas.
Assist the management team in identifying suitable locations for setting up remote silage production units.
Coordinate with internal teams for establishing and operating remote production sites.
Negotiate with farmers regarding crop procurement rates and cost of production.
Evaluate crop quality and ensure suitability for silage production.




Act as a key support to the management team in crop sourcing and farmer coordination.

Qualifications
Bachelors or Master's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field.
Previous experience as an Agronomist in the seed/agriculture industry.
Knowledge of maize cultivation and crop management practices.
Ability to communicate effectively with farmers and field teams.
Experience

Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in agronomy, seed industry, crop advisory, or agricultural field operations.

Travel Requirement

This role requires frequent field travel across Tamil Nadu to identify crops, interact with farmers, and support the establishment of remote production sites
