Key Responsibilities of a Senior Production Manager
Production Planning
Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
Meet production targets while minimizing downtime.
Production Operations
Supervise the complete manufacturing process.
Monitor production performance and resolve operational issues.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Team Management
Lead and supervise production supervisors, operators, and technicians.
Assign work, monitor performance, and provide training.
Promote teamwork and employee motivation.
Inventory & Material Management
Coordinate with stores and procurement to ensure material availability.
Minimize material wastage and optimize inventory levels.
Monitor production consumption and yield.
Machine & Equipment Management
Ensure machines are maintained and operating efficiently.
Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the maintenance team.




Improve equipment reliability and productivity.
Health, Safety & Setting (HSE)
Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.
Conduct safety training and promote secure work practices.
Investigate accidents and implement preventive measures.
Cost Control
Monitor production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Reduce scrap, rework, and production losses.
Improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
Continuous Improvement
Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other improvement initiatives.
Analyze production data and identify process improvements.
Increase productivity and reduce cycle time.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare daily production reports and KPI dashboards.
Maintain production records, batch records, and work instructions.
Report production performance to senior management
