About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer (Data-Focused), you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining a business-critical data platform responsible for calculating dentist pay across the UK. Working within an established engineering team,
you will help ensure the reliability of complex data ingestion pipelines, resolve production issues, and contribute to tactical improvements that strengthen engineering processes and platform stability.
This is a highly data-focused engineering position requiring robust problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently through ambiguity, and close collaboration within a Kanban team. You'll operate across a complex, heavily customised environment while helping introduce better engineering practices without undertaking a full platform rebuild.
Responsibilities
Support and maintain data ingestion pipelines, including connectors that pull data from NHS systems, practice management systems, and laboratory or equipment sources using APIs and screen-scraping.
Own and support the BigQuery ingestion layer and the downstream SQL Server and SQL Azure processing responsible for calculating dentist pay.
