We’re looking for a skilled Automation Engineer with a strong command of Java and experience in tools like Selenium and JavaScript to join our client, a global IT consulting firm serving industries such as insurance, healthcare, banking and financial services, media, retail, and others.
This is a 6-month contract role with the potential for extension, based in Sydney CBD . The position follows a hybrid work model , requiring 3 days in the office and allowing the rest of the week to be remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Discover and implement automation opportunities within software testing, operations, and performance monitoring.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within automated systems and processes.
Develop effective and reusable automation scripts that adhere to industry standards and security best practices.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including automation designs, code documentation, and user guides.
Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and provide constructive feedback to team members.




Partner with stakeholders to identify and prioritize current automation opportunities that enhance business value.
Continuously monitor automated systems to detect failures and performance issues, ensuring high availability and seamless operations.

To perform this role successfully, you will require:
Solid Proficiency in Java
Proficient in Selenium
Competent in JavaScript

Additional Skills:
In-depth knowledge of automation tools such as Playwright, or other current industry tools.
Expertise in API automation using Rest Assured or similar frameworks.
Experience in mobile automation testing.
Banking Industry experience preferred.
