About the Role

Chandigarh University is looking for a agile and creative Punjabi News Writer to join its Media & Communications team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent Punjabi writing skills, a strong understanding of current affairs, and the ability to create compelling news stories for digital, print, and social media platforms. The role requires a keen eye for detail, robust research capabilities, and a passion for journalism and storytelling.

Job Responsibilities

Research, write, edit, and publish news articles, features, and press releases in Punjabi.

Cover university events, achievements, academic initiatives, research developments, and community engagement activities.

Monitor current affairs, education trends, and regional developments to identify newsworthy stories.





Conduct interviews and gather information from internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure accuracy, credibility, and adherence to journalistic and editorial standards.

Create engaging headlines, summaries, and social media content in Punjabi.

Coordinate with the media, branding, and digital marketing teams for content dissemination.

Proofread and edit content to maintain high-quality language and grammar standards.

Qualifications

~ Bachelor's Degree.

~1–5 years of experience in Punjabi news writing, journalism, reporting, or editorial roles.

~ Excellent command of written and spoken Punjabi.

~ Solid understanding of news writing formats and editorial guidelines.
