Mainframe Software Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mainframe Software Engineer to join our FCSD/Service Quality team. In this role, you will serve as the primary Mainframe Developer for the Recall Suite of applications, providing critical support for ongoing operations while driving strategic modernization initiatives. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and fellow engineers to deliver projects and features that meet current business needs and advance our application migration journey to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Responsibilities
Serve as an integral member of the FCSDTech/Service Quality team, supporting Recall and Software FSA products
Provide on-call and production support, responding promptly to incidents and business-critical issues
Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe COBOL and JCL code to meet support and project requirements
Complete mandatory features to support Software FSA and compliance requirements




Address product team deliverables and actively manage the development backlog
Review and support defect resolution efforts, assisting in prioritizing issues within the backlog
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents with a focus on quick resolution and root cause analysis
Perform application support tasks including systems support, security/audit reviews, and maintenance activities
Ensure products deliver solid value propositions for both customers and the business
Participate in the team-oriented product modernization journey alongside IT products, vendors, and business customers
Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure code quality and reliability
Implement and support system-to-system communication using z/OS Connect, SFTP, SOAP, and REST APIs
