While direct industry experience in civil, construction, mining or industrial environments will be highly regarded, we understand solid leadership skills can come from a range of backgrounds. What’s important is that you have a genuine interest in the industry and can see yourself leading teams within a fast-paced operational setting.
You’ll ideally bring:
Demonstrated experience leading and developing large teams in complex operational environments
Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, mentor and support people
Solid communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for creating positive team cultures and supporting employee wellbeing
The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes through people
Experience managing stakeholders and building strong client relationships
A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
Experience within civil, construction, mining or industrial sectors is advantageous but not essential
Tertiary qualifications are beneficial but not mandatory
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and support large teams to achieve safe, productive and high-quality outcomes
Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability, collaboration and performance
Provide strong leadership and guidance to Supervisors and operational teams
Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and internal teams
Coordinate people, resources and operational activities to support successful project delivery
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance team performance and efficiencies
Support workforce planning, employee development and succession initiatives
Promote and uphold AESTEC’s commitment to safety
