Job Description: A Senior Design Engineer in a chain manufacturing company (industrial, conveyor, or roller chains) is responsible for the full lifecycle development of chain products, from initial concept and customer requirements to manufacturing release and testing. This role requires technical expertise in CAD modeling, metallurgy, and stress analysis to ensure product durability, strength, and fatigue resistance. Key Responsibilities & Duties

- Product Design & Development: Conceptualize, design, and validate new chain products, attachments, and sprocket interfaces in compliance with industry standards (ISO, ANSI, DIN).
- Engineering & CAD: Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using software like SolidWorks or Inventor, applying GD&T; and FEA to analyze fatigue, wear, and stress.
- Material & Process Optimization: Select appropriate materials, define heat treatments, and apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to optimize production processes like stamping and machining.
- Validation & Support: Develop tooling, oversee prototype testing, manage engineering changes (ECO), and provide technical support to production, quality, and sales teams.
- Mentorship:



Guide junior engineers in design techniques and departmental processes.

Required Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within precision manufacturing, fasteners, or heavy engineering.
- Technical Proficiencies: Advanced 3D CAD modeling, FEA simulation tools, and a strong understanding of metallurgy and tolerance stack-up analysis.
