We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Tax and Use Tax Manager to join our team. This individual will play a key role in managing a team and ensuring accurate and compliant tax returns for our clients. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Avalara software and a robust background in Sales Tax and Use Tax regulations.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of Sales Tax and Use Tax professionals.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Client Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients.
- This role requires proficiency in written and verbal communication to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
Sales Tax and Use Tax Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of Sales Tax and Use Tax returns for multiple clients.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws ®ulations;,
and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Conduct periodic reviews of client tax positions and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Person should be well versed with filing tax waivers, amending returns and sales tax research
- Preferred to have exposure in Sales Tax Return filing of Restaurant sectors
Avalara Software Expertise:
- Possess hands-on experience with Avalara software for Sales Tax and Use Tax automation.
- Utilize Avalara to streamline tax calculation, reporting, and compliance processes.
- Provide training to team members on effective use of Avalara tools.
Audit Support:
- Assist clients in the event of Sales Tax and Use Tax audits.
- Prepare necessary documentation and collaborate with tax authorities to resolve any audit-related matters.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains in the Sales Tax and Use Tax compliance process.
- Implement best practices and automation tools to enhance workflow.
