Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the university's financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support effective financial management. The ideal candidate should have solid analytical skills, experience in educational institutions (preferred), and the ability to work independently while supporting the Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare financial statements.
Process payments, receipts, invoices, and journal entries.
Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Manage payroll processing and statutory deductions.
Ensure compliance with Ugandan tax regulations and statutory requirements.
Monitor accounts receivable and payable.
Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
Maintain fixed asset registers and inventory records.
Prepare financial reports for university management and stakeholders.




Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a university or educational institution.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, Sage, or ERP systems).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
Good understanding of Ugandan tax laws and financial regulations.

Salary: USD 1000 to 1500 (based on qualifications and experience)
