Job Description:
To own end-end product safety & EMI-EMC compliance for products
Provide for regulatory review, planning & testing for recent product development
Ultimately responsible for the execution of regulatory approval activities for the group. Work requires expert knowledge of safety and EMC regulatory standards, engineering skill, and independent judgement.
Perform all needed regulatory tests (within capability of internal lab) and appropriately document results. Interfacing with 3rd party labs globally to test Battery Packs and Systems.
Gain regulatory certifications on current and newly revised products; including UL, CSA, FCC, VCCI, and VDE.
Coordinate the testing of new products in outside certified laboratories.
Support laboratory equipment needs and records upkeep.
Learn recent regulatory standards and document salient interpretations.
Interpret standard wrt the Design application and authorise the compliance
Document lessons learnt on Regulatory engineering
Reviews part qualifications wrt Safety
Authorizes for submission of reports for VDE, UL based on TDAP as well as CTDP to VDE, UL & CSA
Analyze, identify root cause for Regulatory issues
Work with PCB engineers on Safety & EMC standards & regulatory requirement. Interface with Respective Technical and Regulatory Experts in Lines of Business
Domain Skills:
Expert command of requirements in: IEC 62133,UL1642, UN 38.3, UL 1973, IEC 62619, UL9540 & UL9540A, Low Voltage Directive, EMC Directive, and EN60950, IEC 62040
Functional safety (BMS ) UL 60730-1 or UL 991, UL1998 & IEC 60730-1 or IEC 61508 .
Markings: cURus ,CE , PSE, UKCA
PC software proficiency (Excel, Word)
Preferred: EMI/EMC compliance testing per IEC-61000
B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech with 12+ years’ relevant experience
