OVERALL FACTORY OPERATIONS
A factory manager, also known as a production manager, manages the daily operations of a factory or manufacturing facility. Their responsibilities include:
Production Oversee manufacturing operations, implement production processes, and ensure production standards are met
Staffing Hire, train, and supervise employees, create work schedules, and assign tasks
Budgeting Develop and implement budgets, estimate manufacturing costs, and identify ways to reduce them
Quality control Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure finished goods meet quality standards
Safety Comply with health and safety regulations, provide training and resources to ensure production teams understand safety protocols, and analyze safety issues
Reporting Prepare production reports for senior management
Communication Meet with suppliers and clients to maintain and build effective relationships
Continuous improvement Review and audit production processes to identify strategies for improvement, and lead continuous improvement efforts
Factory managers should have experience in production planning and quality control systems, as well as robust communication and organizational skills.
